| A hard and technical roadmap is being prepared for 2012 |
São Paulo, Brazil, November 25 , 2011 - It goes without saying that your birthday has to be properly commemorated, more so when it is your 20th, a milestone in anyone’s calendar: person, city or event. Rally dos Sertoes is turning 20 in 2012 and has chosen a new city São Luis (capital of the Maranhão State in Northeast Brazil that is turning 400 years in 2012) to use as starting point. A joint birthday opportunity then, brings then new emotions and new challenges to the traditional and demanding Brazilian classic.

New bearings. Traditionally the Sertoes has run a South-North path, starting either in Sao Paulo or more recently and constantly in Goiania at the geographical center of Brazil. For 2012 it will, for the first time, start at the seaside in São Luís (2°36'S, 44°14'W) dive to the Southeast, pass through four different Brazilian States to head back up towards north and finish in Fortaleza (3°43’S, 38°30W). Consider it a roughly V-shaped route that will go in search of the most demanding terrains.
With safety in mind. As always the safety aspects of the Sertoes are set on the highest standards and it will not be different in 2012. Planes, helicopters and a well-trained Medical Staff have already started studying the logistics and will follow closely the definition of the cities involved in the competition.
A word from the Promoter. "It looks like yesterday and so much happened in the meantime! We are determined to make this Sertoes 2012 an even more unforgettable one, we will start participating at the Samba School Parade in São Paulo (Carnaval) in February to show what Cross Country Rally is all about, then we will chose breathtaking roads and sceneries, I am sure you will all love it! Please consider each one of you to be a special guest in this 20th Birthday party that belongs to all of us", says Marcos Moraes, President of Dunas Race the Organizer of Sertoes.
